In 3rd grade GATE we are continuing to study the oceans and the amazing creatures that call it their home. Please watch our video about saving sea turtles. Through our research, we have learned how these animals are important to us and how their lives are at risk. We watched the awesome animals hatch online at http://www.fla-keys.com/turtlecam/ and collected images that we think best show how these animals live.

GATE 5 has just started the first unit of the year!  We are investigating the power of Nature’s Fury!  We have identified 6 main powers of nature:  Tsunami, Tornado, Earthquake, Flood, Avalanche, and Wildfire.  Students are working to define these powers of nature and investigate safety measures that can be taken  to protect us.  We have learned one thing alreayd… nature is amazing!  In a few weeks, students will present their findings to the rest of class.  I will share our PowerPoint presentations here on the blog when they are finished.  We are excited to begin our first project of the year!
